Total Sales Hit New Highs with Continued Month-over-Month Growth

On May 2, BYD officially released its April 2026 sales report, posting total sales of 321,123 units for the month, including 314,100 passenger vehicles, maintaining a continued month-over-month growth trajectory. Blogger @小迪快报 subsequently disclosed detailed sales data for individual models, revealing the market performance of each series under the BYD umbrella.

Notably, BYD had eight model lines surpass the 20,000-unit monthly sales mark, all from the Dynasty and Ocean core series, underscoring BYD's dominant presence in the mainstream new energy vehicle market.

Dynasty Series: Song and Yuan Lead the Charge, Qin Holds Steady Above 20K

On the Dynasty side, the Song series remains BYD's "sales ace," posting an impressive 44,069 units in April alone, with year-to-date cumulative sales reaching 139,939 units — firmly holding the top spot across all BYD lineups. The Yuan series followed closely, selling 40,818 units in April with a cumulative total of 104,926 units for the year, demonstrating strong market appeal.

The Qin series also delivered a standout performance, with April sales of 24,400 units and cumulative sales already exceeding the 100,000-unit milestone at 105,914 units. As BYD's core product in the sedan segment, the Qin series' sustained popularity reflects strong consumer recognition of its value-for-money proposition.

The Tang series sold 7,127 units in April with a cumulative total of 25,125 units, while the Han series moved 5,870 units for the month and 22,590 units cumulatively. Although neither mid-to-premium model broke the 10,000-unit monthly barrier, both maintained steady overall performance. The relatively newer Xia series within the Dynasty lineup posted 1,700 units for the month and 6,412 units cumulatively, still in its market ramp-up phase.

Ocean Series: Four Models Break 20K, Sea Lion Surges Ahead

The Ocean series delivered equally impressive results, with four models exceeding the 20,000-unit monthly threshold. The Sea Lion series showed the most explosive momentum, selling 37,352 units in April with a cumulative total of 88,119 units, establishing itself as the Ocean series' "rising sales champion."

The Seal series followed closely with 28,647 units for the month and 102,660 units cumulatively, making it the first Ocean model to surpass 100,000 cumulative units for the year. The Seagull, BYD's flagship product in the compact EV segment, sold 27,204 units in April with a cumulative total of 98,175 units, on the verge of joining the 100,000-unit club. The Dolphin posted 21,930 units for the month and 69,836 units cumulatively, maintaining a similarly stable performance.

Additionally, the Song PLUS (distributed through the Ocean network) sold 25,863 units in April with a cumulative total of 75,560 units, also joining the "20K+ club." The Destroyer 05 recorded 2,521 units for the month and 20,707 units cumulatively.
