💡 According to channel sources, NVIDIA RTX 3060 12G series GPU chips will resume production in June, with various brand manufacturers gradually launching mass production and releasing retail stock in July. However, overall supply is expected to remain limited.

Channel Sources Confirm Production Resumption Plan

According to a report by IT之家 on May 2, the WeChat account "ChannelGate 视博合聚," operated by 博板堂 & 视讯堂, shared an update on April 29 stating that the GPU chips for the NVIDIA RTX 3060 12G series graphics cards will officially resume production in June, with related chips set to arrive soon. This news indicates that this once widely popular mid-range graphics card will be making a return to the market.

Reportedly, this batch of chips will primarily be allocated among major AIC (Add-in-Card) brand manufacturers. AIC manufacturers refer to authorized graphics card makers that work closely with NVIDIA, obtaining GPU chips directly from the company for R&D and manufacturing. AMD's camp uses a similar designation known as "AIB" (Add-in-Board).

Multiple Brand Manufacturers to Participate in Mass Production

According to channel information, major brands are expected to gradually begin mass production around July and progressively release retail products to the market. Key manufacturers including Colorful, ASUS, MSI, and GALAX will each receive a certain allocation of supply, though specific quotas will vary among them, and overall supply will remain relatively limited.

This means consumers may still face some purchasing pressure in the short term. Whether the market supply-demand balance can be effectively eased will depend on actual shipment volumes going forward.

A Strategic Adjustment, Not a Clearance Sale

From a product positioning standpoint, the RTX 3060 12G has built a solid user base in the 1080P and 2K resolution gaming markets, thanks to its excellent price-to-performance ratio and generous 12GB VRAM capacity. Notably, the RTX 3060 is also one of the best-selling graphics card series in NVIDIA's history, and its market appeal should not be underestimated.

Industry analysts believe this production resumption is not a simple inventory clearance operation but rather a strategic adjustment by NVIDIA in response to current market demand. Against the backdrop of continuously rising prices for next-generation graphics cards, substantial unmet demand still exists in the mid-to-low-end market, and the return of the RTX 3060 12G is well-positioned to fill this price segment gap.

Pricing May Run High — Value Proposition Remains to Be Seen

However, from a pricing perspective, the material costs for this batch of RTX 3060 12G cards are relatively high, and product pricing is expected to be correspondingly elevated. Compared to previously circulated versions on the market, the reissued version may not offer a significant price advantage.

For consumers, the actual value proposition of this card will need to be assessed once official pricing is announced. Considering that newer-generation products such as the RTX 4060 are also seeing gradual price reductions in the current GPU market, how the reissued RTX 3060 12G is priced will directly impact its market competitiveness.
